A delegation from the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) visited UOW on Thursday 18 January. As a member of C9 league, USTC is one of the top institutions in China, educating students in cutting-edge interdisciplinary science and technology, and is a world leader in the fields of quantum manipulation, nanotechnology, high-temperature superconductivity, speed processing, fire science and life science.

The delegation identified several priority areas for research collaborations, including chemistry, physics, materials engineering and biomedicine. UOW and USTC will also continue working to promote a joint PhD program to further support research collaborations. Additionally UOW students will have the opportunity to attend USTC’s Future Scientist International Summer Camp, a two-week program where UOW students can meet peer students from top universities all over the world.

UOW and USTC will work closely to attract government funds to support the student mobility programs, including NCP from Australia and CSC from China.
